Since its introduction in December 2022, the artificial intelligence chatbot known as ChatGPT has maintained a stranglehold over the internet. It wasn't long before users of dating apps began utilizing the service to send messages to potential matches; hence, it shouldn't come as a surprise that dating apps themselves are beginning to participate in the trend.
OkCupid has begun testing out a new feature in which users will be presented with matched questions created by ChatGPT. Michael Kaye, who is the global head of communications for the app, asked ChatGPT what questions to ask on a dating app and what questions to ask when dating, and the following is what the chatbot said in response:
What kind of person are you more—an extrovert or an introvert?
Which time of day do you prefer, the morning or the night?
What do you consider to be the best way to spend a weekend day?
What qualities do you look for most in a potential partner?
How can one determine when it is the right time to move a relationship to the next level?
In a relationship, how do you strike a balance between meeting your own requirements and those of your partner?

It seems that the majority of people who participated in the survey are introverts who enjoy staying in on the weekends and staying up late. A little less than half of those who participated in the survey said that trust was the quality in a partner that was most important to them, and that they followed their instincts when it came to moving their relationship to the next level. Dates strike a balance between their own and their partners' requirements by openly discussing those needs, making time in their schedules for themselves, and participating in social activities apart from their spouses.
"Daters who think ChatGPT is a life saver get almost 40 percent more Matches on OkCupid than those who think it's too big brother," Kaye told Mashable. "So we decided to leverage ChatGPT to draft our famous in-app matching questions that power our algorithm." [ChatGPT] "Daters who think ChatGPT is a life saver get almost 40 percent more Matches on OkCupid than those who think it's too big brother." "The chatbot from OpenAI developed a half a dozen questions for us — everything from what you value most in a mate to how you can balance your personal demands with the requirements of a partner in a relationship — and daters are embracing these new questions," the spokesperson for the company said.
More than 125,000 people have responded to the questions, and the number continues to grow; undoubtedly, Generation Z is in the driver's seat. The use of artificial intelligence (AI) to establish a dating profile or to communicate with other users of dating apps is not regarded as a breach of trust by 31% of Gen Z daters on OkCupid.
Despite this, OkCupid's research indicated that the usage of artificial intelligence (AI) on profile photographs is a turnoff for 52 percent of users, while only 6 percent of users say it's a turnon, and 43 percent are unsure. A sizeable portion of users, forty-seven percent, were uncertain as to whether or not they would continue dating someone who acknowledged to having first communicated with them via an AI-based bot. Three-quarters of respondents indicated that they would not maintain the connection, while eighteen percent stated that they would.
ChatGPT has only been around for a few months, yet it has already transformed the dating lives of several people. It's probable that our dating lives will advance alongside the development of AI.
